TAGGING
Tagging
1. After receiving the seed analytical reports from
Seed Testing Officer check the result with seed standard.
2.
After receiving the tag the Seed Certification Officer must check the
certification tags whether the tags received are according to the indent.
3.
Enter the receipt in the tag account Register maintained in the unit ( AnnexureXIII).
4.
Check the lot concerned whether the processing label and seal are intact and
quantity and quality of the lot.
5.
The details may be filled up in the Tags without any omission and correction by
printing. However if the number of
Tags for a lot is below 50, details may be hand written.
6. Containers, Cloth bags, gunny bags must be new.
The TCS Emblem and relevant specifications shall be given on the
container.
7.Check
the proper working of the Bag closer, treater and weighing machine.
8. Check the availability of required quantity of lead seals, threads etc.
9.
Treat the seeds with approved Chemicals.
10.After treating, bagging, weighing and stitching
with tags, sealing should be done.
11.
Along with certification tags Producer’s label ( Annexure
XIX) should be
stitched.
12.
Tagging should be completed within TWO month from the date of test.
13.
After completion of the work with regard to the Lot, the utilisation of tags
should be verified and if any excess noticed, that should be recorded in the
concerned register and then the unused tags should be sent to the office of the
Assistant Director of Seed Certification for destruction.
14.
Verify the number of tags used and number of bags/containers tagged.
15.
Necessary entries should be done in the processing register and processing
report.
16.
The processing report in complete shape should be sent within 5 days after
completion of seed certification work to the Assistant Director of Seed
Certification concerned.
17.
All the tagging operations should be done only in the presence of seed
certification officer concerned.
18.Double stitching shall be strictly avoided. While tagging if any tags are damaged due to faulty bag closure, the damaged tags should not be used. It should be surrendered to the Assistant director of seed certification. The seed certification officer should record serial number of tags damaged and recommend for replacement of tags.
19. If tagging has not been done within two month from the date of test, confirmation sample shall be taken on obtaining permission from the Assistant Director of seed certification and on payment of seed testing charges. In such cases the validity of the seed lot shall be fixed from the initial date of test.
If the Certification Agency is satisfied either on
reference made to it in this behalf or otherwise that
a.
the certificate granted by it under Section 9 of the Seeds Act 1966 has been
obtained by misrepresentation as to an essential fact or
b. the holder of the Certificate has without reasonable cause failed to comply with the conditions subject to which the certificate has been granted or has contravened any of the provisions of the Act or the Rules made thereunder, then without prejuidice to any other penalty to which the holder of the certificate may be liable under this act. The Assistant Director of Seed Certification may, after giving the holder of the certificate an opportunity of showing cause, revoke the certificate.
