VII. BULKING
Bulking
of unprocessed seed stocks to obtain larger homogeneous seeds stocks may be
permitted provided that the stocks to be bulked meet the following requirements.
belong
to the same certified seed producer;
belong
to the same crop, variety, class of seed and stage in the generation chain;
were
produced in the same season and under similar agroclimatic conditions;
were
subjected to certification under same SCO;
have
more or less similar physical appearance and levels of moisture;
are
adequately homogenous in composition
The
produce so bulked should be treated as a single lot for all further
certification purposes. All the
S.C. Nos., which has been bulked, should be mentioned in processing report and
register. While tagging the smallest S.C. No shall be mentioned along with the
word “bulked” in the tags. If
the bulked seed stocks have different months of harvests then the earliest month
may be noted for the purpose of constructing lot numbers.
For the purpose of calculating the period for moving the bulked stocks to
SPU, the earliest date of harvest should be reckoned.
Bulking
shall be permitted by the Seed Certification Officer under intimation to the
ADSCN after verifying the merit of the cases.
Incase
of Tomato alone picking wise fruit / seed bulking can be permitted for a maximum
of 5 pickings .In such cases the bulked seed lot from the first picking will be
considered as “A” lot and subsequent pickings shall be considered as
“B”, "C”, "D”, and “E” respectively.
Bulking
in Hybrids and in parents is not allowed.
